MentorSpace workshop on Landing your First job in the Financial Services Industry- Unlock Your Potential! is going to be a 3 hour long workshop spread over 3 sessions addressing the most important aspects to land your first job. Every session will end with a clear list of action points and a framework from industry experts followed by a weeks time for the participant to put it in action. This will be followed by a review in the next session and steps ahead.

Who can enroll

Students pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree. We highly recommend students in the initial years of study to take up this workshop as they would have a few years to hone their skills and build a strong profile. Freshers trying to stand out from the competition and land their first job. Participants should be between 18+ years of age.

Sandeep Sareen

Sandeep was an Executive Vice President at IndusInd Bank and has over 27 years of overall experience across multiple roles in various organisations. In his last role, he was Head of Corporate Operations for the 1400+ branches of IndusInd Bank. His team of 800 employees was responsible for supporting a business which was growing at over 30% per annum and at the same time ensuring client satisfaction and controlling operational risk. He was responsible for building a globally competitive world class operation with a focus on 5 areas – People Engagement & Development, Client Experience, Value Creation & Efficiency, Risk & Control and Stakeholder Engagement. Throughout his corporate career, Sandeep played a key role in identifying potential future leaders and managing and retaining talent. He is passionate about employee engagement, coaching and people development. He believes that development is a journey which starts with building self-awareness and a desire to change. His view is that people do not get better because they go to training programs or listen to motivational speakers or do what their coaches say. They get better if they pick some things important to work on, involve the people around them and follow up in a disciplined way. Long term change in leadership and personal effectiveness takes time, follow up and discipline – not just understanding.

Be open to feedback – The key objective of this mentoring session is a better YOU!

Take a follow on session – To transform yourself and reach your goals, multiple sessions might be required. If you feel this session was useful, try a more intense 1-on-1 session with the mentor.
